Sea lion bowl that is ovular in circumference and u-shaped in profile. The head protrudes from on of the narrow ends. Decoration is in engraved details and inlaid shell at eyes, teeth, and flippers.

Extensive ink inscriptions above and below the image give the title as "'Hïlunga' Thunder-Bird," and include explanatory remarks: "This design is reproduced from that appliqued in red on a dark blue blanket: the applique was held in place with dentalia shells. Later white buttons were substituted for shells." Number 4 in the upper right corner.
