Bark ShredderA2293

Salish style thin, wooden shredder, rectangular in shape, consisting of a board with a central oval shaped cut forming a handle. Lower edge is slightly beveled and worn smooth through use. The handle consists of two pieces of wood nailed together. There are two holes in the body of the piece on one side, and one hole on the opposite side. Traces of a dark brown stain adhere in sections on one side only.

Brown double reed whistle that is square in cross section and bound in four sections with brown twine, two near each end and two near the middle. While the wider end is solid, there are two hollows through the smaller end where there is a taper cut semi-oval hole nearby at either side.

WhistleA2137

Long rectangular wooden whistle with a rounded bottom, a flat end and top; made of two pieces of wood. The mouth piece is triangular with a flat end that has a carved hole. On the top, near the opening is a large, rectangular shaped indentation with a semi-oval shaped opening. There are two sets of fine indentation from strips of cedar that bound the whistle together; cedar is missing.

Spruce root basket lid; plain twined work with twilled design on sides. Chevron twilled design on sides alternating with checkered brown and natural in between. Band on top alternates brown and natural with every warp strand (five rows wide).
