Dance ScreenA7232

Woven brown dance screen with painted design. The dance screen has an open weave and is made of several pieces sewn together with vertical seams. The top edge has been folded over and sewn, to be mounted on a wooden pole. The central design is a totem pole in black, red and green. The pole has two raven motifs; the raven in red holds his head up, the raven in green is looking down. There is a twisted fibre fringe on the lower edge.

Cylindrical, slightly curved, handle that has nine flat angular sides. Carved rounded circular head with a flat upraised top which has a circular grooved centre. Incised with circular lines all around the rounded base of the head.

Fragment of a garment consisting of lengths of twisted shredded cedar bark twined together with one row of string at the top. There is a white feather attached, small amounts of eagle down and a piece of wool. Two strands of red cedar bark hang down from the bottom, middle section.
