A drawing on a bookmark. The front-side of the bookmark is a hand-drawn image of a salmon on a white background. The drawing is horizontally oriented. A blue wavy line, representing the waterline, extends horizontally across the upper part of the page. The salmon is centrally positioned on the page. Most of the salmon is coloured in with green ink; the side of the salmon is decorated with crisscrossing assemblages of orange lines in varying lengths and thicknesses. The lateral line running the length of the body is decorated with a green crisscross design. The dorsal, pectoral, pelvic, anal, and the caudal fin of the salmon are white with a green border and a green dash pattern. A human-like being is drawn in orange ink in the bottom right corner of the bookmark; the being has a human-like face. Orange bubbles rise from its mouth. A human-like arm extends from the top of the being's head. The human-like hand, decorated with an unshaded ovoid, is drawn holding a black fishing line. A black-brown fishing hook and a small orange fish are drawn at the end of the fishing line. The reverse-side of the bookmark is machine-printed; the background is orange, and text is in red and black ink. At the top, an open cartoon book displays the bookstore's name, "Clifford's Wake." Printed below is the store's commercial information.

A drawing of a human skull and a flame on a one-sided, vertically oriented, piece of paper. The top edge of the paper is cut at an angle; the right-side of the paper is shorter than the left. The background of the drawing is filled with crisscrossing assemblages of line patterns of varying lengths and thicknesses in light green, light blue and dark green ink. In the middle-section, a human skull is outlined in dark green ink with the interior space left white; the eye sockets are coloured in with dark green ink. Dark green dots outline the right half of the eye sockets and the skull. The flame, drawn in red-orange and yellow ink, is positioned at the bottom of the drawing and extends upwards so that the upper sections of the flame overlay the skull. The reverse-side of the paper is blank.

A pencil drawing on a blue bookmark. The bookmark is vertically oriented. The front-side is a hand-drawn image of a lightning serpent(?). Curled projections, on top of the serpent's head, extend from the shaded snout to the base of the head. The lips of the creature are darkly shaded in with pencil. Rounded teeth line the upper and lower jaw. Two bell-like shapes, each with three segmented appendages, are drawn on its back. The reverse-side of the bookmark is machine-printed in black ink. At the top, an image of a cat is superimposed resting on the top edge of the text box's border; within the border is the bookstore's commercial information including the store's name, "Bookends."

A drawing on a single-sided piece of paper. The drawing and paper are vertically oriented. The paper is cut at an angle along the top edge; the left edge of the page is longer than the right edge. A black fin, decorated with a purple oval and cross, a purple tower-shape, a purple arch filled with a crisscross pattern, and a purple asterisk, is drawn at the top of the page. Below, a green triangle embellished with a pattern of green crisscrossing lines extends from the left edge of the page. Further down, a purple triangle decorated with a pattern of purple crisscrossing lines extends from the right edge of the page. The area between the two triangles is coloured yellow and a swirl of purple dots is centrally positioned. The right half of a human skull, drawn in green ink, extends from the bottom of the purple triangle. The reverse-side of the paper is blank.

A drawing on a dark beige coloured bookmark. The front-side of the bookmark is a hand-drawn image of a sperm(?) whale. The whale is horizontally oriented with it's body extending from the left to the right edge of the bookmark. There is a large hollow oval drawn on the whale's upper jaw. To the right of the oval is a creature. Drawn to the right of that is a human hand with an oval and cross in the palm. The pectoral fin is decorated with a shaded circle enclosed by two larger circles, a creature, and a shaded ovoid. A small dorsal fin extends from a rounded hump three-quarters down the whale's body. The whale's tail is undecorated. The reverse-side of the bookmark is machine-printed in blue ink. The bookstore's logo, three squares in a L-shape, is in the bottom left corner. To the right and extending upwards at a shallow angle is the bookstore's name, "hager books;" and the store's commercial information.

A drawing of human skulls on a single-sided piece of paper. The paper is cut at a forty-five degree angle along the top edge; the right edge of the paper is longer than the left edge. The background, hand-drawn in pink ink, is decorated with criss-crossing assemblages of line patterns in varying lengths and thicknesses. Two burgundy lines run vertically down the centre of the paper; between the two lines are small burgundy circles. To the left of the lines are four half human skulls arranged vertically and outlined in burgundy. The eye and nasal cavities are speckled with burgundy dots. The right half of the paper mirrors the left except that the skulls are positioned approximately one centimetre lower than those on the left half of the paper. The reverse-side of the paper is blank.

A lime green killer whale cutout made from a bookmark. The front-side of the cutout is horizontally oriented and is solid lime green with no additional markings. The whale's head is angled upwards, triangular teeth line the mouth, and a circular blowhole is cutout at the base of the head. An arch, crescent, and a long thin hook-shape is cutout from the killer whale's underbelly forming the pectoral fin. The dorsal fin extends upwards from the middle of the killer whale's back and then bends towards the tail. An arch-shape is cutout from each tail fluke. Between the two flukes is a cutout of a diamond-shape. On the reverse-side of the cutout is machine-printed black text and an image of two books stacked on top of each other.

A pencil drawing on a bookmark. The front side is a vertically oriented, hand-drawn image of a killer whale with exaggerated fins. The dorsal fin extends from the middle of the bookmark to the top edge; abstract patterns drawn in red and black ink decorate the interior space of the fin. A stream of air, drawn as black dashes, exits the killer whale's blowhole and encircles the dorsal fin. The whale's eye patch is drawn in green ink, the teeth are in dark red ink, and a dark red arrow extends outward from the whale's mouth. The tail, drawn in red and black ink with black stars, is positioned below the whale's head. The reverse-side of the bookmark is horizontally oriented and is machine-printed. There is an image of a cartoon lion, wearing red shorts with the word "READ," running while reading a book. The background is a light green colour.

A drawing on a blue coloured bookmark. The front-side is vertically oriented and is hand-drawn in pencil. The central drawing is a single killer whale with its mouth open; triangular teeth line both the upper and lower jaw. A blowhole at the back of the whale's head releases a stream of air. The body of the killer whale is formed of a pectoral flipper, a dorsal fin, and a tail. The pectoral fin is embellished with two unshaded tower-shapes. The dorsal fin is decorated with an elongated diamond, an oval with two intersecting lines, and two arches with a stripe patterns. The tail two tail flukes are symmetrical; between the flukes is a large unshaded oval with an elongated diamond inside. The reverse-side of the bookmark is machine-printed. Commercial information, including the bookstore's name, "The Phoenix Used and Rare Books," is printed in black ink.

A drawing and a poem on a piece of white scrap paper. The paper and drawing are both vertically oriented. At the top of the paper, "Our Ancestors are always with us," is printed by hand in pink ink. Positioned below in the centre of the page is a human skull with two fins extending outwards from the skull. The skull and the two fins are decorated with criss-crossing assemblages of blue lines of varying lengths and thicknesses. Pink dots line the edge of the skull's circular eye sockets. The right eye socket is an unconnected circle; pink dots extend from the eye socket to form four swirling lines of varying heights in the white space outside the skull. The left fin extends out of the top of the skull; the interior is decorated with a wide pink arch filled with pink dots and a short yellow line, and a pink dotted ovoid. The right fin is drawn extending inversely from the jaw of the skull; the interior is decorated with a wide pink arch filled with pink dots, and a pink circular ovoid. Below the drawing, the lines "No Matter where we are; who we are with; what we do; what time it is; No Matter," are printed in pink ink. In the bottom right corner is the artist's signature, a "M" with a line through it and two dots. On the reverse-side, three hill-like shapes in pencil extend from the left edge of the page.
