Part a: Long, rectangular brass container with a rounded end and rounded, hinged top--top has a centred, crown-shaped knob. Attached to the side of the case at the top is a smaller square container with a shell-shaped hatch opening (part b). The smaller container is attached to the longer rectangular container in such a manner that the latter lays horizontally while the former sits upright to be opened. The entire object is engraved with an intricate floral pattern with several imaged of animals.
Round Islamic prayer seal with straight vertical sides. Seal has central circular character with decoration around the edges.
Round jar with flush foot and wide, flared neck. Jar is undecorated.
Tall narrow jar with tall wide flared neck and flared foot. Jar is unglazed.
Wooden box with painted paper glued to exterior then covered with varnish. Bottom has green paper. Around the edges is a gold, black and red floral design band. Top has battle scene of men on horseback. The front and back sides have an image of a procession of men in the desert with hills, grass and background of houses and trees. The ends show a ruler sitting in a temple accompanied by ten attendants in tall black hats. All images are drawn flat. The men’s dress is simple, varying from long robes to short tunics and long boots. The men are shaved, bearded or mustached. Inside the box is lined with paper consisting of blue, silver and white floral print. Two black cloth straps hold the lid and are attached in place by thumb tacks. Adhered with tape are two handwritten notes on Darius and Horus.
Rectangular shaped manuscript leaf. Central section painted with four figures on horses holding mallets in one hand and a ball on the ground. The background is a stylized flowers and grass, with landscape and sky at the top. Script at the top and bottom of the image, and covering the reverse.
Brass pen case and ink pot. The case is rectangular with a lid at one end, while the pot is square with rounded sides, the two are soldered together. Each are decorated with sectioned geometric designs, mainly circles, scrolls and rope-like lines applied in panels all over the surface. The scrollwork sections were once inlaid with turquoise and coral.
A textile piece that has multiple fabric layers which create scenes and designs. Centre panel has figures wearing traditional costumes and engaging in various activities. Floral design in polychrome surrounds the scene. Predominant colours are white, red, green, and yellow on a maroon background. The border and lining are red.
Green and gold tablecloth with embroidery. The centre panel is gold with flower motifs in gold, blue, green, yellow and orange. The border is green with floral motifs in the same colours. The backside is lined with white silk.
Triangular shaped sheath formed by two pieces of wood bound together with black leather and banded on the top with metal painted with gold leaf design. Metal strip has a loop.
