Black against tan geometric woven patterned basket (part a) of a square shape with lid (part b). Both the basket and the lid have a pattern that consists of a main horizontal black band that has tan squares within that have black centres with black bands above and below.
Purple skirt with embroidered yellow pattern. The weft of the skirt is light purple while the warp is dark purple. The borders of the skirt are embroidered with thin, yellow lines. The pattern on the skirt is embroidered in yellow thread and takes the shape of modified zigzags with stepped triangular shapes at the peaks of each angle of the zigzag.
Striped cotton jacket or heavy blouse. Decorated with striped patterns in alternating white, blue, red, yellow and green stripes. The thickest stripes of green, blue, red and white have interior stripes decorated in different colours in a zigzag pattern. The collar, front fastening panel and hem are patterned with thin, alternating stripes of all the colours, as are the fringes of the sleeves. The front fastens by means of seven black metal snaps.

Cloth woven from abaca fibres (musa textile) has a warp ikat decorative technique in dark brown, beige and reddish natural dye colours. The two ends have been left unfinished with a short fringe.
In the Spirit of the Ancestors-This is one of the few contemporary weavings made of mountain goat wool. The wool was gathered in the Olympic Mountains and colored with evergreen huckleberries, wolf moss, yellow cedar bark, and salal berries. Susan Pavel, was a student (and niece-in-law) of the late Skokomish leader, Subiyay - Bruce Miller, who founded the Northwest Native American Basketweavers Association.
