The item search helps you look through the thousands of items on the RRN and find exactly what you’re after. We’ve split the search into two parts, Results, and Search Filters. You’re in the results section right now. You can still perform “Quick searches” from the menu bar, but if you’re new to the RRN, click the Search tab above and use the exploratory search.

Green painted, boat-shaped, wooden shuttle with solid end points and hollowed out central area. Notches at the ends of the hollowed out area support a metal rod which holds the wooden bobbin on which white yarn is wound. The yarn is fed to the outside of the shuttle through a single slot positioned in the centre of one side. The shuttle is crudely carved and the green paint is worn off in some sections. One chip along the upper edge.
Wool sling consisting of an orange, purple, green, yellow and red braid with five tassels spaced along the length and a centrally positioned pouch. The pouch is composed of four woven strips which have a stitched netting between them. One end has a braided finger loop.
Wide red belt with white figurative and geometric motifs is sewn at one end to a stiff, thick belt cross-striped in light and dark shades of natural wool. The non-sewn end of the red belt terminates in 36 braids which are grouped together by a cord knotted to a very narrow woven tie with geometric patterns. Another doubled cord is attached to the non-sewn end of the stiff belt. The red belt has five lengthwise design bands. In the centre, the widest band has naturalistic images of horses, cows, birds and a house alternating with more geometric motifs, principally a six-part circle. Narrow bands flanking the central stripe repeat an eye shape on both sides of zigzag. Pattern bands near the edges have many small motifs, mostly geometric.
Belt with three bands of geometric and figurative motifs in off-white, dark red and green on a red ground. Motifs of birds, a cow, a house and geometric figures decorate the central band. Sewn at one end to a stiff thick belt irregularly cross-striped in light and dark shades of natural wool. The opposite end of the red belt is finished with 18 braids which are grouped together by a cord knotted to a very narrow woven tie with geometric patterns. A similar cord and tie is attached to the non-sewn end of the stiff belt section.
A large metal safety pin with one shaft wrapped with strung beads; six to eight beads of one colour are followed by the same number in other colours in a regular sequence: orange, yellow, light green, dark green, dark blue, aqua blue, light blue, white, red then repeat.
Pair of metal, spoon-shaped pins with pointed shafts. The metal has a yellowish cast; bowl of both spoons has a simple repousse design of three arched lines repeated in reflective symmetry. The throat of the pin is decorated with reverse curve strips of metal soldered to each side. Twine joins the pins together and is attached through one loop of the reverse curve.
Bag made of red vertically striped fabric with a slender strap and thick colourful tassels along the bottom. White figurative and geometric motifs are placed in a wider central stripe, in two narrow side stripes and along the strap. Green and yellow solid stripes edge the design bands. The bag mouth and side seams have a tubular woven edging with a zigzagging diamond motif.
Long red cloth with multi-coloured stripes in pink, orange, green, yellow, dark blue and white. Three white stripes with geometric patterns, fish and bird motifs in dark red and green, are alternating with other stripes. Plied and knotted fringes at each end.
Red and black piece of circular knitting still mounted on the knitting needles. The knitting is folded and the needles are lined up parallel and bound together using white and black yarns that is still attached to the knitting. Small skeins of the black and white are attached. A red pattern band is complete: white shapes aligned diagonally are repeated in reflective symmetry. A second band is half complete and alternated legs in trousers with legs in a skirt.
Rectangular knitted bag with a corded strap and three red tassels on the bottom. The bag faces are similar, each consisting of four bands with repeating patterns worked in white or coloured yarn against a dark red or a dark blue background. A border of dark blue and white squares surrounds the bag mouth. Next is a row of figures, alternately male and female, holding hands and wearing hats. Below this is a row of white oval shapes oriented on the diagonal. They repeat in reflective symmetry. Below this is a wider blue band with individual motifs of profile birds, segmented circles and crosses. The final band is like the second band. The bottom edge is sewn together and tassels are attached through the two larger ones. The handle is four strands of red, green and white twisted together then doubled.
