Pouch1404/39 a-b

Two rectangular woven pouches that fit together, with one partly inside the other, and with openings on the short side of each one. The edges at the opening are somewaht u-shaped. The basketry is undecorated.

Knife1438/2 a-b

Curved knife (part a) with scroll-shaped wooden handle and metal ring. Curved wooden sheath (part b) tapers to a squared-off point. Slit runs down the length of the sheath exposing part of the knife blade. Vine and leaf-like engravings are carved on sheath surface. Coiled rope fastens to the sheath through the wood on the underside of the piece and is secured with knots.

Model Boat1438/1 a-b

Rectangular-shaped boat (part a) and sail (part b). Boat base is made up of fourteen long wooden rods that are linked together with grass stitching. On either side of the boat are long and flared rods that are shorter on one end and extend past the length of the boat on the other. They curve upwards to a sharp and tapered point. The mast (part b) is inserted into a square piece in the centre of the boat and attached to it, is a rectangular-shaped, woven grass sail.

Pair of shoes made from palm leaves woven over twined palm leaf on the soles and twined fibre over the toes. The fibre over the toes alternates between off-white and pink.

Rain Cape1404/42

Rain cape woven into a semi-circular shape. The corners have been trimmed at the bottom front, and they are blanket stitched along with the edges that extend down from the neck. There is a loop of ramie cord at the back of the neck, and the bottom edges are unfinished with a fringe.

Pair of small shoes made from woven palm leaf. The base of the Show is made from interwoven leaves, and the upper part of the shoe is made from leaves woven into a chevron pattern with the ends of the leaves on the inside of each shoe.

Hat with overall bell shape and strips of stem woven over lengths of plant stem at the top of the crown. The flared brim is composed of strips of plant stem coiled around lenths of plant stem secured in rows with thin strips of plant stem that run vertically down the sides of the brim. One short segment of the brim edge is indented slightly by one and a half rows. The edge of the brim is finished with braided strips of stem. Twined plant fibre strap inside.
