These moccasins were sewn from soft-tanned deer or caribou hide and beaded with striking leaf, flower, berry, and nut or catkin designs. The designs may be fanciful, rather than representing real plants. People of the southern Yukon region, including the Inland Tlingit, constructed moccasins of this type, with T-shaped heal seams and blunt toes. This pair was collected on the coast at Sitka, reflecting trade between coast and interior groups.

The elders agreed that the beadwork on this object is loom woven, and commented that the bead design is similar to bead designs on octopus bags (e.g. E89196-0; E021581-0). The object name for catalog numbers e20736-20742 was previously recorded as: "Carving Wooden Dish Frog". This is due to the fact that the objects within this range share a single catalog card, where the description (carving wooden dish frog) only corresponds to the first object (e20734) in the series. When the catalog information was entered into the database, the object name was recorded as the same for each, despite the fact that each catalog number is representative of different, separate objects. At some point, a new catalog card was created for E20742. The other records were updated when digital images were attached to the catalog records.
