From card: "Of cedar bark, cylindrical shape, cover has hollow containing seeds [i.e. a rattle top], indistinctly diamond patterned by interspersion of twill stitches, edge of cover and one side cracked." Per Deborah Ann Head, 6-3-2009, Basket is woven in Haida style and has a Haida design. However, the start on the lid is not typical Haida.

IN SOME EXAMPLES THE HANDLES ARE MADE FROM THE HORN OF THE ROCKY MOUNTAIN GOAT. IN SOUTHEASTERN ALASKA, IN CANADA, AND THROUGHOUT THE ROCKY MOUNTAIN REGION OF THE UNITED STATES, THE HORN OF THE MOUNTAIN SHEEP IS USED IN MAKING DOMESTIC UTENSILS.
