The end of the handle has been shaved down and angled at the bottom into a wedge. There is a mark, 'GD' carved into the back of the handle and also drawn in blue ink on the bottom front of the handle.

The blade has a long curved shape. It is inserted into the handle and tightly secured by fibre string wrapped around the top quarter of the handle.
