Thin unpainted square base and a lid with a sharp edge. Sides of the lid are painted in dark blue. A sitting figure at one corner of the box is holding the lid up and looking inside the box. Large owl mask with moveable jaw and eyes. Eye holes are carved out, sides of nose have semi-circular red shapes, and the mouth is painted red. Black design on mask depicts feathers with red details. On reverse are cotton and cedar(?) bark ties controlling the movements of the jaw. A hide tongue is tied to hide strips through the eyes. Three hide strips are nailed to the sides; two other nails protrude at top edge. (Metal wire for hanging on back.)

Square, kerfed, steamed bentwood bowl: hardwood sides, red-cedar base, sinew stitching. Rim inset with operculum shells, originally four to each side (one missing). Outer surface carved with animal imagery.

Raven rattle with red and black painted designs and cord lashings around handle. Raven has wings in a gliding position. On its back is a frog is connected by a tongue to a reclining human (shaman or healer?). The frog is held in the long beak of a bird (kingfisher?) that forms the raven’s tail. The stylized face carved in shallow relief on the belly of the raven. (Interior thought to hold beads?)

Wide, silver band with killer whale design. The band is wider at the front. Artist inscription inside.

Wooden spoon with painted design. Large spoon has a long shallow bowl flowing into a wide, slightly curved handle. Bowl has a formline style sea creature painted on the interior in green and red with black outlines, and tall fin at top. At distal end of handle is an eye with a leaf shaped motif. On back of handle is written in paint “Port Simpson BC”.
