Sewn in regular design around top on two sides, with open pattern around other two sides. The birch bark is in one piece from front to back and the sides are sewn together with a folded mitre-like base.

Birch bark container with linear, triangular designs (horizontal) around the outside. Reddish pigment is on the background of the outside of the piece and the rim has staggered overstitches. On both sides of the outside, larger triangular stitches (vertical) attache the birch bark pieces together.

Reinforced wood rim is lashed to body of basket with spruce root--small segments of spruce roots are dyed red. Sides are decorated with a scraped vegetal design of four plants, with crosshatching on one end and the base left undecorated.

Single piece of light brown bark, brown white with cross-grain flecks on the interior. Rectangular base with v-cut sides sewn with thin strips of bark. Oval-shaped mouth is reinforced with two thin sticks sewn in place. The outside has a black pencil line on one side near the top and there is a number in pencil on the base.

A twig splint around the rim is closely overcast for reinforcement, with several bands of crabapple (?) bark beaded in. Geometrical design is scratched on: two rows of scallops bordering chevron strip. Darker part of bark is to the outside. The overcasting is mainly thin strips of natural coloured root (?) with strips of black dyed root (five stitches wide) - two on ends and two on sides. Only the side portions of the natural root overcasting is beaded in a 1:1 ratio.
