The item search helps you look through the thousands of items on the RRN and find exactly what you’re after. We’ve split the search into two parts, Results, and Search Filters. You’re in the results section right now. You can still perform “Quick searches” from the menu bar, but if you’re new to the RRN, click the Search tab above and use the exploratory search.

Necklace holding a heavy pendant of multiple decorative pieces hanging from a central cylinder. The cylinder is decorated with hammered(?) designs - a swirl-like design around the centre loop, and bands of diagonal lines formed from dots around either end. Beneath the cylinder are seven rings, with two more on each end of the cylinder, each with ornaments attached. There are five large triangular pendants, each with smaller pendants attached below: crescent-shaped, Khamsa or palm-shaped amulet. A tracer chain with a hook and eye clasp is threaded through three loops, two on the cylinder, and one on the cylinder's lid.
Brooch of a filigree fish in profile. Fish has a small red jewel-like eye (glass or mineral?). A 25 Kurus Mehmed V coin is inset by the tail. The size and shape of the coin blends with the scales on the fish's body. The coin shows an open laurel wreath with a five-pointed star between the tips at top. In the centre, translated from Arabic "May he be victorious. Struck in Constantinople. 1327", while the reverse of the coin is plain. There are six small metal globules on various points of the fish. The back has a large pin, extending horizontally along the length of the fish.
Necklace composed of a length of ribbon with metal ornaments sewn across the ribbon's centre with lavender and light pink thread. The ribbon is off-white with a wide band of yellow down the centre, and two smaller bands of alternating red and light blue squares on either side. Across the ribbon, there are two triangular beads on either end, with a flat rounded rectangular piece at centre, and five rounded rectangular beads in between on each side. From these, chains of beads hang. The majority of the beads are circular, teardrop or triangular. There are three large crescent-shaped ornaments with filigree within, each with a palm-shaped amulet or Khamsa attached beneath, and small filigree ornaments attached to both.
Dagger and sheath. The knife (part a) has a shiny steel blade, gently curved at bottom, ending in a sharp point, and with a central spine on both front and back. The hilt is made of horn, with a wide pommel narrowing to a thin grip. Two round brass seals decorate the pommel front and are attached by nails that pierce the horn and emerge from the back. Small metal protrusions embellish the front of the hilt as does a bottom encircling band. The sheath (part b) is made of yellow leather covered with thin strips of brown leather. Lines of small holes and incised ‘x’ shapes decorate the yellow leather. The main portion is slightly curved to accommodate the dagger’s blade, while the bottom turns dramatically upward. Red fabric lines the opening of the sheath.
Dark blue tunic with deep v-neck and very wide sleeves. There is silver embroidery around the v-neck in leaf and linear motifs. The inside is unlined.
