Classic wedding vase with incised water serpent (Avanyu) designs. Madeline Naranjo started potting in the 1930s. This work is made from red clay in the traditional hand coiled manner then stone polishedand carved before open firing it. Pots would remain red in the final color except she smothers the fire at the height of firing process to achieve black.

Squat, globular water jar with high shoulder, restricted at the neck which is concave in profile. Decorated in deep brown and dark red-orange on white, in solid and hatched step-like interlocking key pattern.
Classic modified seed jar form with road runner and flowering cactus motif. This version of a popular design is particularly graceful in execution with the birds seeming to dance over the mountain tops and the cactus' looking activated. Potter is possibly Dominiquita H Pino (b. 1935) To be confirned.
