Such pieces are very old and are greatly prized by the natives who upon occasions of ceremony and the distribution of property, present them to the more honored guests as gifts."Emmons talks about this artifact in his letter of May 28, 1902, written from Victoria, B.C., filed in the accession file. He identifies it there as from the Blunden Harbor [sic] Kwakiutl.
