The item search helps you look through the thousands of items on the RRN and find exactly what you’re after. We’ve split the search into two parts, Results, and Search Filters. You’re in the results section right now. You can still perform “Quick searches” from the menu bar, but if you’re new to the RRN, click the Search tab above and use the exploratory search.

FROM CARD: "EMBROIDERED."
Florence Sheakley made the following comments during the Tlingit Recovering Voices Community Research Visit, March 13-March 24, 2017. These are a pair of non-commercially made women's gloves, featuring embroidery and quill designs. This object has strips of leather, and the inside is lined with fur.
From old tag with artifact: "VI. Tray Dish. Haida & Tsimshian. not farther south."
May be Sitka Tlingit?: it is identified as collected in Sitka; and also see accession history re the basket part of this accession being from the "Sitka-Kwahn."
FROM CARD: "16395-6. NOS. 16395-6: ILLUS. IN USNM REPT, 1896; PL. 23, FIGS. 4,5; P. 1056."There appears to be some kind of cataloguing error with this object. Ledger book and catalogue card call this Sitka, however it was published in USNM Annual Report for 1896 as Aleutian Islands, and original list in accession record also identifies it that way, with same provenance as toy lamp A16061. See Dall's field catalogue, filed under Accession No. 3258, entry under # 893.
FROM CARD: "IMPLEMENT OF WOOD, IN 2 SECTIONS."Provenience note: List in accession file (this object is # 1 on list) appears to attribute this to the Auk Tlingit of Sinta-ka-heen-ee.
