Bone figure with hands together on chest with stylized hair. Holes circle the head, except where fragments have broken off on either side of the top of the head. A photograph and description of this object was included on page 175 of the catalog for the Seattle Art Museum exhibit "S'abadeb, The Gifts" for which this object was loaned in 2008 (loan # L.210) The title of the book is "S'abadeb The Gifts: Pacific Coast Salish Art and Artists," Barbara Brotherton, editor, and is located in the Archaeology library in room 29. Antler wedge incised with circular and oval shapes on both surfaces. Wide end of wedge is slightly hollow and rough. There are two numbers on object - "SJ156" in black, and "SJ24/156" in white. Blade edge has freshly exposed breaks.

Clovis fluted point, obsidian, broken and repaired. Locality: 30-40 yards from bridge crossing Crab Creek at mouth of Crab Creek, south of Beverly. Identified by D.O. Remarks: 2 pieces found together.* Per request by graduate student Brett Lenz (Northern Arizona University, Dept. of Quarternary Studies), this Clovis point was sent to Richard Hughes (Geochemical Research, Portola Valley, CA) for obsidian sourcing, a non-destructive technique. The obsidian closely matches the Horsehead Mountain chemical type, which is found in the area of Little Juniper Mountain in Harney County, OR.
