Necklace3123/43

Round beaded neck ring. Necklace consists of eleven strands of small glass beads strung on wire and placed in encircling rows, becoming successively smaller in size toward the centre. Colours are a row of light blue on the outside, one row dark red, two rows green, one row red, two rows white, two rows dark blue, and finishing with two rows of red on the interior. Wire is placed intermittently across the rows to hold beads firmly in place. Two strips of leather also serve this purpose, and one holds a small string of twisted cotton.

Necklace3123/50

Leather necklace with three piece pendant. A patch of white goat hair is applied to a square of dark brown painted leather edged with white stitching, under which is a small wooden bead held by two short braids. To each side of this central piece are smaller rectangles of leather, decorated with a border and vertical line of dark brown paint, also edged with the white stitching. These pieces are attached to a necklace made from three thin braids of leather held together by white wrappings. The closure is a loop into which fits a small club.

Long hollow animal horn. Object is curved, wide at base and narrowing toward tip. Tip is carved into an oblong ball. An open, rimmed mouthpiece is carved into the concave curve of the horn near the narrow end.

Bow made of wood and hair. A short piece of wood is bent into a 'U' shape, with several strands of what appears to be horse hair stretched between the ends, and attached by white plastic tape. The wood is partially painted green.

Stringed Musical Instrument3123/32

Stringed musical instrument. A long thin neck of wood is joined to a long, narrow, wood body which is partially wrapped in skin attached by metal nails to the instrument’s underside. Plastic strings stretch from the neck, where they are held by staggered leather thongs, to a wooden bridge near the bottom of the body, meeting several cotton strings that are used for tightening. A thin braided leather strap is connected to the bottom of the body and partway along the neck.

Stringed Musical Instrument3123/31

Stringed musical instrument. A long squared neck of wood, carved with several sets of diagonal lines, pierces the top of a round, hollow gourd, emerging as a short peg on the opposite side. Two long wood pins pierce the neck, each holding a metal string that stretch to make contact with a small wood bridge on the gourd, and extend to wrap around the peg. The bridge is glued to a piece of skin stretched over a large hole in the top of the gourd, attached with small wood pins. Gourd is decorated with carved lines in the shape of foliage.

Power Figure3103/28

Carved wooden figure standing upright on round pedestal. Top of head is flat. Two holes drilled through figure; one down through head and body, and one across head from ear to ear. Curved line carved from ear to ear over narrow eyes, T-shaped nose, and small open mouth. Ears formed from raised semi circle around small bump. Thick round neck meets narrow shoulders. Thin arms bent at elbow and held at chest. Fingers carved into hands. Nipples and belly button carved from chest and stomach. Short legs bent at knees with toes carved into feet. Shoulder blades and buttocks protrude from back with incised line running between the two.

Round bracelet made out of four similarly sized, curved pieces of ivory. The pieces are attached by inset strips of wood and four small, decorative nails per piece, visible on the top and bottom of the bracelet. The sides of the bracelet are squared.

Pipe2960/30

Wooden pipe with carved face. The pipe is long with a thick round outcropping at midpoint, hollowed. Above, the wood is evenly wrapped for 7 cm with thin coiled copper wire, up to where a smooth round head is carved. The face is flat with a long nose decorated with four incised circles. Two eyes sit to either side of the nose, made of embedded small red beads. Three small holes are bored into the top and sides of the head. An incised ring has been cut in the wood near the bottom end of the pipe.
