Beadwork3703/39

Oval-shaped beadwork, consisting of two strands of glass beads overtop one another. Both rows have pattern of bands trimmed on either side with black, white, and red. Bands are (from left to right): solid orange, solid black, solid white, solid red, solid green, black top and white bottom, red top and yellow bottom, black top and orange bottom, black top and orange bottom, and black top and orange bottom. Thin pieces of plastic placed intermittently around beadwork to hold beads in place. Semi-circular protrusion extends from front of beadwork; in between black and white, and red and yellow bands. Protrusion has two pieces of beaded fringe, with a silver charm. Bracelet secures at back with small hook clasp.

Necklace3703/41

Beaded circular necklace with small rectangular panel at front; on skin backing. Necklace consists of ten strands of glass beads in encircling rows. Rows form alternating coloured bands, with diamonds in between them. Bands done in blue, dark blue, and black, and diamonds done in green, red, orange, and white; diamonds outlined with gold beads. Rectangular panel has alternating diamond and hourglass design. Five long strands of beaded fringe extend from bottom edge, ending with cowrie shells. Necklace secures at back with two hook clasps; metal charms on either side of clasps.

Cuff beaded bracelet, consisting of seventeen strands of glass beads overtop one another. Rows of beads form decorative columns of stripes, horizontal bands, and triangles; done in black, white, maroon, orange, green, yellow, and dark blue. Thin pieces of blue plastic placed intermittently around bracelet to hold beads in place. Short chains with silver discs extend from bottom edge. Bracelet secures at back with two hook clasps.

Blanket3522/98

Heavy white rectangular blanket consisting of six woven strips, stitched together along the long edges. Entire blanket is covered in black geometric designs with brown, yellow and white highlights throughout. Designs consist of diamonds, rectangles, triangles, plain and dotted lines, zigzags, squares and dot motifs. Two wide black bands run through centre of blanket with alternating triangle and diamond motif; trimmed with squares and an infinity symbol-like design. Sides have wide brown bands with white and black diamonds throughout, trimmed in black. There are seven tassels on each side; top and bottom edges are trimmed with black.

Blanket3522/99

Heavy white rectangular blanket consisting of two panels stitched together in the centre, along the long edge; each panel is made up of three woven horizontal strips. Band decorates section where two panels meet; band is brown with a yellow line through the centre, rows of white squares on either side. Entire blanket is covered in black geometric designs with brown, yellow and white highlights throughout. Designs consist of diamonds, triangles, rectangles, "X" shapes, squares and dot motifs. Sides have wide brown bands, trimmed in black. There are seven sets of two tassels on each side; top and bottom edges are trimmed with black. (Cotton strip sewn onto back, for hanging purposes).

Drum3326/25

Three-legged drum. Cylindrical body, tapering in slightly toward a raised band horizontal around the drum. The base has three feet. The animal hide with fur is stretched across the end and fits over sticks inserted in the wood. A thin band of animal skin is woven around the wood pegs in a zigzag pattern to hold the skin in place.

Miniature Mask3123/53

Miniature mask in bronze. Face is oblong in shape, wide at temples, narrowing toward chin. Face has heavily lidded eyes, almost closed but for a slight opening in the right eye cut through the metal to the back of the piece. Brows are arched. Nose is long, relatively flat, with protruding nostrils. Lips are rectangular in shape and also protrude, as does a braided moustache with rolled tips. A small mark sits on the cheek below the left eye. A headband sits across the forehead, behind which are several rows of braided hair, rolled at the front. Interior of mask is concave.

Bracelet3123/52

Bronze bracelet. Piece is slightly oblong in width, with curled ends at back opening, and three protruding circles at front with jingling noisemakers in their hollow centres. The top front is engraved with small loops and linear designs on the bracelet and an uneven pattern of dots on the protruding circles, which also appear on their back-side.
