Round purse of two pieces of wool stitched together with open top. Decoration is in red embroidery on black wool; interior is red knit fabric. One side has "ALERT BAY" stitched into it while the other has a rose design on it.

Eagle SculptureA50042

Large wooden, carved statue painted in the form of an eagle with outstretched wings, mounted on top of a plain wooden pole. The bird has a large protruding yellow beak. Its eyes are black and white surrounded by a green ovoid. The chest is white with a repeating rows of black u-forms depicting feathers. The wings are white with black, green and red u and split u-forms. In the top outer corners of the wings is an eagle head painted in profile. Tail projects at the back.

Small carved totem pole with two figures. The upper figure is a bird with a light brown body. Its head and breast are covered in black, white and green dots while its wings are covered in red, green and white diamonds. The bottom figure is humanistic with a red face and arms. The nose is flat; the eyes and teeth are white. The chest and lower body are brown with black and white dots. The pole sits on a brown rounded base.

Carved cedar chest with hinged lid, dove-tailed corners. Lid has thunderbird design and border of geometric designs. Front of box, on either side of a bear(?) crest are carved totem figures. Also, attached at each front corner are identical totem poles with a thunderbird and bear. Otter is carved on the side panels. Plain back.

Model totem pole. From the top down, the designs are a thunderbird with outstretched wings that is perched on the head of a human. The human is hugging his knees. Figures rest on a round pedestal and have been secured with four nails. Overall colours are black and green.

Cylindrical wooden rattle. The rattle is widest at the centre and tapers to the ends. The cedar has large incised designs painted red and black. There is an inscription, "Cranmer 81" on one end.

Frontlet Headdress687/1

Headdress with a frontlet of red painted wood inlaid around three edges with coppers and abalone. In the centre of frontlet is a human figure, elbows resting on knees with hands held up, palms outward; figure has inlaid abalone for eyes and teeth. Frontlet is attached to a white fur hat which, in turn, is attached to a long train (80 cm le) of off-white ermine skins, backed by red cotton. The ermine tails--the tips of which are dark brown--each have a red strip of cotton tied to them.
