Mask2738/112

Carved wooden mask. Projecting out from the bottom of a tall flat headdress is a small rectangular face with prominent brow or hat and a squared pointed nose. Much of the mask appears to have been over-painted; most of the black and red facial features are covered with white paint but the black eyes and mouth, as well as the black zigzag and dot designs of the headdress and sides of the face, are painted over the white. At the base of the headdress, in the centre, is a roughly gouged hole.
