BeltSf1120

Brown-red leather belt with ten heavy bronze bells hanging from the front. Front of belt is apron-shaped, with two waist straps and a buckle attached at the sides. A dark brown horse design with a geometric border is incised on the front of the belt, along with decorative metal eyelets. The bells are attached to the belt with strips of brown leather.

Stringed Musical InstrumentSf1136

Small, guitar-like instrument carved from brown wood; one piece forms the body and neck. The fret board appears darker in colour. Six peg-like tuners are carved of light wood. Five wire strings run over seven metal frets on the neck. A multicoloured woven neck band is attached at the headstock and the side of the body.

Part a: wooden loom with a small section of dark red, pink, black and white woven textile with numerous unraveled strands wrapped around other pieces of wood. Part b: thick wooden bar with one flat end and one pointed end. Part c: long and thin wooden stick with pointed end. Part d: short and thick wooden stick with pointed end. Part e: rectangular wooden tool with tapered end. Part f: wooden stick that tapers to a point at one end and has a large knob at the other. Part g: light brown braided cord. Part h: blue, blue, brown and beige braided cord.

Part a: Overdress loom, consists of two large branch beams, warp and partly woven overdress, heddles and rod and large branch shed rod. Weaving is about two thirds black warp face and one third (on one side) design panel of horses and geometric in purple, white, orange, red, green and yellow. Part b: shed roll, part c: comb made of dark wood, flat and slightly tapered, jagged top and bottom. Part d: long slender stick for holding picked up threads, part e: pick beater made of yellow horn. Part f: flattened pointed stick for picking up threads made of dark wood and slightly curved and tapered to a point. Part g: Dark brown wood, one piece with knob handle and round shaft which is shaped to a point. Part h: dark brown wood with tapered ends, roughly rounded and smoothed. Part i: dark brown leather tie, two lengths joined through slits. Part j: leather tie but only one length and end has three slits. Part k: Grey, brown and red braid tie. Part l: Long stick. Part m: long and thick rounded bar. Part n: Grey and light brown coloured woven band with red spots. Part o: Dark and light brown tie.

Long, yellow-brown flute with carved holes made from a bamboo-like length of reed grass. A separate reed is fitted into the mouthpiece and secured in place with twine. Wool and cotton string are wrapped around the lower portion of the flute in two places.

Hair tie (parts a-b) consisting of a long, black cord tie (part a) that separates into three strands that then divides into a further five strands at the end. Each strand has many blue, green and white beads along with a tassel at the end. Part b is the strand that has come off.
