Shawl Pin3097/74

Shawl pin with acute long point and dangling metal chains. Superior part of pin has a band of engraved flowers with diagonal dashes in between, blue gems at the ends and a peacock design above a green gem surrounded by a lion and flowers at its left and one bird and anthropomorphic figures at other side, over leaf designs. Ten dangling metal chains have different figures at the ends: three circular and three rectangular plates, three animals and one knife.

Spoon shaped pin. Sun decoration with blue and orange glass gems. Sad face in centre surrounded by engraved circles over horizontal crescent moon. Two spoons with shallow surface and flowering motif at lower sides of moon decoration; one has two dangling metal chains with one knife and figures at the ends. Two holes for suspension at spoon base, green gem between them and acute long point below. Incomplete.

Triple spoon pin. Shallow oval surface shape on top with diagonal dashes in rim and flowering motif with orange and blue glass gems in flattened borders. Two small spoons with flowering motifs at lower sides of main spoon; one has two holes for missing charms. Two holes for suspension at spoons base and acute long point below.

Articulated fish with vertical bands of incised dashes forming semilunar designs and small vent pins protruding in dorsal and ventral body. A short metal chain in its mouth connects the fish with the pin. A rectangular purple stone bead is an ending string connector. Superior part of metal pin has one peacock design standing in a "v" leaf motif.

Articulated fish with two yellow-orange applied glass gems in pectoral fins and body with incised double circles joined together by diagonal lines of short dashes. Small vent pins are protruding in dorsal and ventral body and a short metal chain in its mouth is connecting the fish with a globular shaped cross pin. Superior part of pin has three peacock designs with one bird at both lateral sides of cross; one red gem in cross centre and one blue gem at leaf, near hand design.

Vest made of woolen plain-weave cloth and adorned with white buttons, embroidery bands, pockets and colourful fabric appliqués. Rectangular pockets with embroidery bands at borders of geometric motifs forming large roses. Curved woven strips in the interior forming an inverted triangle with one button. Two bands in the centre front of red fabric and curved strips on pink and green in interior. Two protruding ties are hanging from front with embroidery bands of large rose designs. Pink curved vertical strips in the middle of ties.

Round embroidered hat with straw in the interior. The top has a green background and an embroidered off-white band forming different sewn motifs: (1) two bands in "Y" shape with protruding yellow triangle decorations at borders and purple triangles at base, (2) two triangular designs with red triangle at base, band of orange-red, green, pink, purple and yellow squares above; protruding yellow triangles at borders. A hole at the centre of the hat has fabric in the interior with an embroidered cross that rises when the hat is worn. Protruding triangles at rim, red fabric at the bottom and non-dyed fabric in the head area.

Round wool hat with shaped crown in the middle and straw in the interior. Top of hat has different embroidered motifs surrounded by sewn metal sequins and small plastic beads: four tall trees, two circular designs with leaf decorations, two triangular designs with three geometric motifs. The crown has four geometric designs in each quarter and a high pompom in the middle with five coins of five cents each sewn with metal threads. Ring band at rim with geometric sewn designs and protuded serrated decoration; red fabric background and light red cushion in the interior.

Knitted bag. Strap in light brown and yellow dyed threads, with pink and yellow pompoms at edges. Three pouches; two at front, one on either side. Peruvian, Bolivian, Argentinian, Spanish and Chilean coins from the late 1700's to early 1900's have been sewn with cotton threads on front side (left pouch: 18 small, right pouch: 11 medium and front: 13 large coins). The most common phrase on the coins is: "Libre por la constitucion" (free by the constitution). Six bands of geometric motifs (from top to bottom): flowers, triangles, waves, circles and diagonal lines.
