Green, white, red and black humanoid mask with deep set eye sockets with protruding eyes, a pointed chin, prominent eyebrows and cheekbones. Copper pieces are nailed to both cheeks. Remnants of cloth are nailed along the top and side edges.

Carved wooden, crooked beak headdress, or mask. The beak has red ovoid shaped nostrils with a central frill that curves inward to the centre of the beak. The mouth is red, flat and protruding; bottom part of jaw is nailed shut. The face is black with white outline and detailing. The eyes are white outlined in black and red on a white, ovoid shaped ground; brow is black. The inside of the mask is hollow; twisted twine is tied to either side of the bottom, back edge of the mask. Attached to the top and side edges are short, bundles cedar stripes; longer pieces of cedar hang down the back. The mask is painted black, white and red with Northwest Coast stylized forms.

Head RingA1467

Head ring made from thin strands of twined cedar bark backed by cloth. Four vertical bands of twined bark are sewn to the outside of the head ring at even intervals. A wide, rectangular piece made from the same twined bark is sewn onto the front of the head ring. Possibly red pigment on bark?

NecklaceA1447

Long necklace made of glass trade beads strung onto metal wire. The necklace has a repeated pattern of two blue, ‘Russian’, beads next to three red, ‘white heart’ beads. At the end of the string is a large conical shaped blue bead and a Venetian ‘polychrome’ flower bead.

Mourner mask. White face mask, with elongated oval face. Two red coloured marks on each cheek. Three evenly spaced thin red lines next to each eye, toward the outside of the face. Nostrils and lips are red. Hair and eyebrow ridges are black. Cut-out eyes are outlined in black.

Mask that has been carved on a forward slant, giving it an angular appearance. The mask is painted white with pursed red lips, a hooked nose with red nostrils, and semi-circular eyes. Two half crescents raised on each side of cheeks are painted black. Tufts of cedar bark fringe are attached at the sides and longer strands of cedar bark extend down the back of the mask below the chin. Off-white feathers protrude upwards from the top of the head.

Skull-shaped figure with recessed eye sockets and without a bottom jaw. There are five metal nails in the bottom, and one at the top of the forehead. A length of braided cotton string is attached vertically to the back of the skull with two metal staples, one at either end. A strand of cotton string is attached horizontally across the back of the skull with two metal staples, one at either end.
