QuiverK3.18 a-d

Hollow reed (part b) with five holes bored through one end and three smaller holes bored at the other end. Wide plug (part a) fits in the hollow end while the other end is permanently sealed. Two arrows (parts c and d). While both arrows have a metal point tip and base with fibre ? or sinew ? wrapped around both ends and their shafts are notched at the end, one arrow (part d) has a smaller base with less material wrapped below it than the other arrow (part c). One arrow (part d) has some yellow plant leaf-like fibre attached at the base of the point.

Animal horn instrument. The horn is wrapped with leather at the base and carved with eight grooves at the tip. A hole is bored through to the centre from the outside midway between the leather and the tip.

Shallow, cylindrical tin can with a handle, a funnel for fuel and a wick stand soldered to the side and top edges. On the interior of the funnel has a fleur-de-lis imprinted with a silver triangular background outlined in yellow.

Mottled wood shaft cut through and joined near the mid-point. Dowel visible at the join which is inserted into both sections of the shaft. Leaf-shaped spearhead hammered around the shaft and secured with a nail. Pointed metal butt flattened at the shaft end and hammered around the shaft. Band of iron coiled around shaft below point.

Mottled wood shaft cut and re-joined near the mid-section. Several notches cut below the join. Black iron leaf-shaped spearhead flattened at the base and hammered around the shaft. Iron point of butt similarly attached and secured with two coils of iron band. Shaft below spearhead decorated with flattened brass and incised geometric design.

Light woode shaft cut near the mid-point of the shaft and joined with a plug. Several notches cut in the shaft near the join. Spearhead has elongated black iron blade. Base of the blade hammered around the shaft. Butt end of the spear has flattened blade hammered to the shaft.
