Pair of parallelogram-shaped wooden plaques carved in high relief depicting two different outdoor scenes of an emperor and his guard. Colours are predominantly gold, green, red. Each plaque has a pierced brass handle attached on the back at the top for hanging; hanging handles feature ornate linear patterning.

The upper edge has a convex curve near the handle followed by a concave curve, creating a wave pattern. The blade is bent around the handle to hold it in place, but has come loose.
