Wide turquoise damask silk pants. The pants have a natural cotton waistband and navy cotton cuffs. The damask is woven containing floral and bamboo motifs. The inner lining is natural linen.

Pink skirt panels with pleats (part a-b). Across the top is a wide cotton waistband with one long tie and three frog closures. The pink damask is woven containing a flower motif. The panel consists of three pieces. The first piece and the bottom hem are edged with pale blue scalloped braid. The centre piece has tiny pleats. The inside is unlined.

Cantonese Opera RobeN1.660

White robe with wide extended sleeves, side slits and side opening with ties. On the front and back is a square rank panel with lotus and wave motifs in gold and pink on turquoise ground. The collar, sleeve, side and hem borders have peony and vase motifs in pink, purple, yellow, blue and green. Inside the border is a thin band of prunus in blue and turquoise. There are tin reflections and white fur on the front, back and sleeves. The belt carriers have multicoloured bird, prunus and peony motifs on a turquoise ground stiffened with paper, wood and adhesive. The inside lining is natural coloured linen.
