This coin has been overstruck. The ‘TbERPP’ on the reverse indicates that it was once used during the reign of a previous emperor, Maurice Tiberius.

Reverse: large ‘M’; to left, inscriptions are illegible; to right, it says ‘III’ or ‘IIII’ in a vertical position; to far right, it says ‘ONIK’; above, ‘P’ within a cross; beneath, ‘B’; in exergue, ‘CON’. This coin has been overstruck twice, resulting in confusion on both sides. On the obverse, only the third inscription to the right belongs to this coin. The ‘OCA’ on the obverse also indicates that this coin was once used during the reign of the previous emperor, Phocas. On the reverse, the ‘ONIK’ indicates that this coin was minted in Nikomedia at some point before being minted at Constantinople.
