Poncho3486/156

Man’s poncho that is almost entirely covered with figures (diamonds, zigzags, hexagons, flower and leaf patterns) in red or maroon on white. The figures are organized in 4 wide bands and 1 narrower band near the centre seam. Plain weave stripes separate the figured bands; a series of narrow stripes is placed on the outer edge of the poncho.

Band3486/98

Band (watana) with fringe ends and beaded edging. Olive green and light beige wool are woven together forming the geometric motif with diamonds, lines, and heart shapes. The motif is contained in a border of mustard yellow, and bluish-grey yarn with small round opaque beads across the top and bottom edges of the band.

Dance Sling3486/40

A dance sling (wichi wichi) consisting of a main braid and one secondary braids with tassels. The main braid is solid and has varied geometric diamond motifs throughout in black, brown, beige, and white, attached to a finger-woven pocket. The pocket has a triangular geometric motif in light magenta, off-white, navy blue, grey, and light purple, with remains of vibrant tassels along the edges. The main braid ends with two tassels in red and deep purple. Looped around the main braid is an additional braid that is unfixed with three large tassels in red, purple, and off-white, ending with four smaller tassels in red, pink, green, and light purple. Attached to the other end of the pocket is the secondary braid with a black, brown, beige, and grey chevron motif.

Dance Sling3486/38

A small-size dance sling (wichi wichi) with a finger-woven cradle and solid braids for handles. The bigger braid, decorated with geometric diamond patterns in black and hot pink against an orange background, with a small finger-loop above the tassel ending made of three smaller solid braids. The cradle at the centre of the sling has a black base with a triangle motif in orange, beige, hot-pink, and dark brown. A chevron pattern is worked in orange, off-white black, and dark brown along the smaller braid.

A deep brown knitted natural fibre coin purse (monedera) with colourful bobbles. The small rectangular bag has a narrow section near the opening and a triangular flap at the top with a thin tie connected to the point. The bobbles decorate the bag in horizontal colour-blocked stripes of magenta, off-white, blue-grey, golden yellow, magenta, dark green, off-white, bright red, dark green, yellow-green, and a bright red scalloped border around the opening.

Hat3486/29

Knitted cap (chullu) in synthetic and natural yarn with a long tassel, a scalloped border, and ear flaps with woven straps. Triangular and diamond motifs in red and off-white make up the base design that repeats around the cap. A circle of alternating squares in green and orange appears around the top of the cap. Small diamonds in varied colours of green, yellow, burgundy, pink and orange are arranged to form larger diamonds central to the design. Around the bottom edge of the cap is a thin border of repeating orange and green lines. A border of magenta and red scalloping is present around the very bottom edge of the cap and the ear flaps. The woven straps have diamond motifs in off-white and orange against a red, magenta, and green background with long yarn tassels in the same colours. The red and off-white knitted pattern of the cap extends into a narrow tail at the top, finished with a bright pink and red yarn tassel.
