Poncho3151/3

Wool poncho. Garment is rectangular in shape, consisiting of two nearly identical peices of cloth sewn together in a thick stitch at shoulders, leaving an opening for the head and neck at mid-point. Background colour is a light brown, with horizontal stripes in two panels at top and bottom in colours of red, green, blue, pink and others. A single green line runs between the panels.

Wool textile. Piece is rectangular in shape, with a thick cord edging sewn along all sides. Stripes fill the textile, with wide bands of light tan interspersed with thin lines in groupings of dark pink, red, orange, grey and green. Narrow lines of pattern in grey and pink sit atop the tan. Cord edging has a repeating diamond-shaped pattern in dark red, orange and grey.

Stripes fill the textile, in a variety of thicknesses and in colours of brown, pink, orange, grey and red. Edges are hemmed with a woven cord holding a repeating diamond-shaped pattern.

Clay ram. Torso rests on ground, with no evidence of legs. Small tail curves down above rump. Neck is short and thick, a small head with narrow snout emerging. Large horns curve onto cheeks and eyes protrude slightly. At top centre of back is a hole with short neck and rounded rim leading into the hollow centre of the vessel. Body is painted a dark red at the midpoint over a base colour of brown.

Felt hat, light tan in colour. Brim is wide, curved slightly upward on one side, and down on the other. A band of dark tan edges the brim, embellished with white stitching in a double wave pattern. The crown is low, rounded at top, and banded by strips of wool in bright pink and red. The wool is wound several times around and secured by stitching at both sides, where the ends hang freely.

Woven textile. Two long rectangular textiles are sewn together to make a square. The designs are woven in strips of repeating motifs, which include animals, diamonds, and curled designs. These are interspersed with lines of colour in various thicknesses that run the length of the textile.

Staff2994/1

Staff made of a solid piece of rounded wood, tapering slightly toward the bottom. A silver grip crowns the top of the staff and is decorated with incised designs of plants, trees, and lines. Several narrow silver bands encircle the staff, some with incised linear decoration. A thick, braided silver wire criss-crosses down the length of the staff with a silver cross dangling at its end. The bottom of the stick is encased in a sheet of undecorated metal that narrows to a sharp tip.
