Cape2862/33

Rectangular cape, may have been used to carry babies and objects on one’s back. The cape has vertical bands of diamonds and triangles woven into it, interspersed by bands of solid colour in pink, green and blue. Along one edge is a thin strip of nylon folded over and sewn onto both sides of the cape. The cape has been sewn together down a centre seam.

Rectangular cape. The centre of the cape is woven with text saying “Demetria de Nina Juniu de 1958 Ano” and various other words, letters and numbers. The strips of text are surrounded by strips of colour in orange and red. On the sides are strips of colour in brown as well as strips of waves and dots.

Hide, horseshoe shaped bag with a semi-circular folding flap that has a dark brown stripe that goes through the metal buckle. Attached to the back is a long hide strap. The flap has layers of decorative skin that is painted red and black. The front has a red painted border along with red over a layer of decorative skin. The back edge is painted black.

White blouse with embroidery and lace. The blouse has a round neckline and a side shoulder opening. There is a u-shaped panel on the front centre. The panel has wide pink lace with pink and blue ribbon in the centre. Around the panel is wide white lace with paired pieces of fabric on the inner edge. The long sleeves are cuffed with pink and white lace. The inside is unlined.

Woven, wool hat, conical in shape with two long rectangular ties. The body of the hat is detailed with a red geometric pattern with stripes of orange, brown, red and burgundy on a light brown ground. There are two triangular earflaps decorated with cream buttons bordered on each side with small white beads. Both of the ties are bordered with small white, blue, yellow and pink beads. There is a fuchsia tassel on the top.
