Yellow earthenware jewelry box (part a) in the form of an escritoire, with two long lower drawers (parts b-c), and 9 smaller ones above (parts d-l). Painted with purple-red scenes of buildings and trees in black framed, rectangular, white reserves on upper and lower sides and drawer fronts. Each drawer opens and has a knob handle.
Headdress from a Hungarian dance costume. Thin headdress made of two circles of flexible wire wrapped with strands of plastic. Attached to this are small white beads, some grouped to create bunches. Interspersed among the beads are small tan flowers and dark green-blue leaves.
Rigid fabric headdress, from a Hungarian dance costume. Headdress is made of light blue silk covering a rigid support, peaked at centre top, narrowing at the edges where a strip of thin elastic joins the ends together at back. The outer side has looped patterns made of brown metal thread with flecks of gold. Tubular glass beads make a zigzag pattern along the top edge.
Delicate white apron in an oval shape, to accompany a traditional Hungarian dance costume. Centre panels are made of fine synthetic fibre, separated across the middle with a thick band of lace in a flower pattern. Around the edge of the apron is a wide band of netting embroidered with leaves and foliage along the outside. The wasteband is a narrow strip of undecorated material that extends into long ties on both sides.
Teired white skirt; part of a traditional Hungarian dance costume. Three panels of cotton are interspersed with wide strips of lace. Below the lace of the top two panels sits a short peplum hem. The skirt if fastened at back by two metal hook and eye closures.
Short blouse with a wide neckline edged in lace, and short puffed sleeves decorated with lace and an inset light blue ribbon. Bodice is light blue silk, pointed at bottom front and back, embelished with swirled designs in brown metalic thread along the front button closure, hems, and up the back darts. Buttons are gold orbs, and hide hook and eye closures. The blouse is lined with unbleached cotton on the inside of the bodice.
Ceremonial skirt, long and beige with drawstring waist and braided ties. Bottom half of skirt is covered in vertical lines of red embroidered rectangles. Six vertical lines of triangular embroidery extend 16 cm above the rest of the red embroidery. Bottom of skirt is lined with beige lace.
Ceremonial blouse, beige with "V" cut neckline and puffed sleeves. Collar has red and blue embroidery decorating the edges and has a bunched or gathered effect. The sleeves are volumous, and the back of the shoulders and sleeves are heavily embroidered with black flower and leaf motifs. The back of the sleeves also have a band of cut-out lace. The cuffs are gathered with elastic and flare out at the ends. The cuffs are trimmed with lace and there is a red tie on the inside. The back of the blouse has a beige tie attached to the bottom with five metal hooks. The bottom of the blouse is unhemmed.
Ceremonial apron with long wool tassles hanging from a short band of embroidery. Tassles are predominantly red, but also have four strands of white tassles. There are also shorter fringe tassles on either side of the embroidered band. The band has colourful geometric embroidery in the centre with silver, red, and black zigzag embroidery above and below it. It is bordered by green and purple S-shaped appliqued embroidery. There are two black ties on either corner of the band, used to tie around the wearer's waist.
Ceremonial apron with long wool(?) tassles that hang from a square of black velvet with leaf and flower embroidery. Leaves are green, and flowers are red, blue and pink. The velvet square has a red border with light blue swirl applique. Long tassles hang from the back of the apon in yellow, pink, green and dark blue. There are tassle fringes on either side of the velvet square also. The waist is made of a thick band of black velvet with heavy curlicue embroidery across the centre in light brown. There are metal clasps on either end to secure the apron together. There is also a black string tie sewn to the back to secure around the wearer's waist.
