Shoulder Bag3068/5

Large bag with handle. Bag is made up of several woven, vertical panels sewn together. The panels making up the sides extend into a thick, wide handle at top, and short dense fringe at bottom. A drawstring is threaded through the bag’s mouth. The design in the weaving is dense, with repeating motifs of lines, rectangles, spots and diamonds on front and back panels. Along the edges of each panel are vertical strips woven in linear designs. Interior is unlined.

Long, narrow sash woven from bright red woven fabric. At each end is a thin embroidered strip in a triangle motif, in white, blue, green and orange. The sash ends are unhemmed and culminate in a thick fringe.

Inner Shirt3068/3

Long sleeved shirt made of unbleached cotton. Sleeve cuffs are lined on the interior with dark blue silk. Front is open, with a short, standing collar. Three closely stitched lines the same colour as the fabric sit close together at the bottom. Fringe hangs from the unhemmed bottom of the shirt’s torso. Side slits are lined with bright red fabric.

Long sleeved jacket made from woven dark red fabric. The front is open, with a short standing collar. Front and back below the shoulders on chest are woven with human and animal figures divided by lines of dots. Below this are circular motifs filled with lines and dots, divided by yellow triangular designs. The bottom hem is finished with a thick fringe. Short side slits are edged in shiny tan fabric and lined on interior with blue.

Dress3068/1

Sleeveless dress made from a dark red woven fabric. Vertical lines of white and light green are woven into the fabric, dense at centre, widely spaced toward the edges. There's a line of embroidery near the bottom in a multicoloured triangular motif. The garment is wide and rectangular in shape, with arm holes on the top edges. The skirt part is made up of 4 pieces of fabric sewn together. The neck opening is a short ‘v’, front and back, edged with shiny light grey fabric. The tunic is unlined.

Shawl2878/68

Rectangular woven shawl. The centre section of the shawl is light brown and has a design of alternating green and purple thick lines. The light brown centre has a border made up of two lines with small triangles between them. On either end of the shawl there are identical designs. The designs are made up of different arrangements of lines and triangles in various colours.

Hook2878/64

Brown, wooden suspension hook made from four upward curving 'branches', the ends of which are carved into four horse heads. The necks of the horse’s heads are decorated with chiseled parallel grooves. From the mouth of each of the four horse heads there are carved knobs suspended. There is also another set of knobs attached lower down on the horses' necks. The bottom end of these four horse head branches are inserted into the lower end of a central carved vertical pole, into a carved square box shape and are arranged so that they are diametrically opposite each other. At the end of the box there is a projection onto which is attached a wooden knob. The middle section of the hook is comprised of four twisted columns that meet at a mid-point in a carved knot design. The top of the hook is a carved wooden disc where seven carved wooden knobs are attached. The knobs are the same as those found in the horses’ mouth and on the horses’ neck. An iron ring is attached to the disc that is used to suspend the hook.

Veil2878/63

Large, square, red veil. On two edges of the veil there is a thick black border. Inside this border, there is a second border that encloses a red square. This border is a red design with wavy lines, straight lines, triangles and dots. The centre of the veil is a red square, and within that square there are four small circles surrounding one large circle. These circles are black with a red design in the centre of each of the circles. These designs are of a similar style to the design that borders the red square.
