Belt2514/3

The object is a woven belt with a loop attachment at one end and two woven cords at the other. At either end there are woven strands with frayed ends, two at the loop end, and three at the cord end (which also has another woven strand ending in a loop-type shape). There is an overlapping zigzag design of woven material over the main part of the belt. Both use alternating light and dark brown colour.

Child's grass skirt with a light and dark brown braided top edge that ends with a loop and cord attachment. A woven design at the top consists of alternating light and dark brown lines from which hangs fine strips of brown grass. Some of the woven designs are in a square shape and are attached separately from others. Many sections overlap for a layered effect.

Cylindrical bamboo container, or lidded box. The lid is tied to the base with string secured by woven bands, one on the container and one on the lid. Handle is secured by woven rattan bands. Handle has a plain two prong-like base. Upper portion of the handle tapers and has a groove around it, creating a long mouth-like shape. There is a small hole through the mid-upper end, creating an eye-like feature.

Slit GongIb461

Indonesian slit gong or Kentongan drum made from carved wood into the shape of a figure with a cylindrical shape body, a flat bottom and a slightly protruding chest. The top has a bulbous head with incised eyes, nose, mouth and ears. There is black detailing for eyebrows, eyes and moustache. There are screws on each side of the head. Through the middle of the body is a large slit opening that leads to a hollow interior.

Rectangular, woven textile with a fibre fringe on both ends. The bottom of the textile is undecorated while the top has of a brown woven lozenge pattern band followed by a fringe which rests upon another brown, geometric pattern band which also has a fringe. The two fringes overlap each other and are knotted in sections. The top edge has two small sticks of wood running through.

Wooden puppet (part a) with pink face, gold painted headdress, and movable arms. Puppet is wearing a black and mustard coloured honeycomb-patterned cloth top decorated with yellow fringe and long a red, orange, and pink coloured cloth skirt. The puppet's face has a bulbous nose, an opened mouth and has black scrolled designs painted around the eye brows, cheeks, and ears. One of the arms is detached (part b).
