Pictorial ikat futon cover. The cover is dark blue with light white-blue depictions of fans with floral motifs. The back is unlined.

Black summer kimono (着物) made of hand woven kasuri (絣) or ikat textile made from ramie fibre. Cotton fabric interfacing on the shoulder area woven in plain weave. Kimono assembled with hand-stitching throughout. The pattern is linear squares and circles arranged in a checkered design. There is a wide patterned band around the neck and partway down the centre opening. The sleeve panels are short with an opening under the arm. The inside is unlined.

Satsuma ceramic plate. Plate depicts four men. Three of the men are kneeling/squatting and one is holding a staff. The man standing has the longest beard. Gold overlay is apparent over entire plate. In background is a tree and water.

A horizontally rectangular, light yellow paper piece folded in half, creating two vertically rectangular images, one on either side. The left image has a black, white, and red rooster and a hen wigh green grass and a black basket or a cage ? to the side. The right image has a grey and black forest scene of trees and a stream.

Silk, rectangular shaped textile sample with a different floral pattern outlined in black at either end. One floral pattern is rounded flowers, leaves and grass. The other floral pattern is pointed flowers with matching leaves. Japanese symbols are printed in a faded box off to one side between the floral patterns.

A three sided green patterned folder with light brown lining. English name printed on folder with four rows of Japanese characters, a red seal with Japanese characters and a gold vertical of gold paper. Two fasteners made of ribbon and ivory.

Silk, rectangular shaped textile sample with a different floral pattern at either end. One floral pattern is rounded light pink and yellow flowers and greenery. The other floral pattern is pointed red flowers, green leaves and leaves outlined in brown. Japanese symbols are printed on one side of the latter floral pattern.

Gold lacquered hexagonal-shaped box with lid, and with tray that fits inside. Top of lid has gold design of river, maple tree and bridge, sides have maple leaves and water design, and tray has landscape with cliff and blue waterfall.

Gray woven panel vest. The panels are woven from gray fabric with white, black, blue, red and green pieces and edged with gray trim. The vest is made of two long woven panels, folded over at the shoulders. The panels are stitched together up the back and hang open at the front. The front and back panels are connected at the sides with two gray bands. The upper back is reinforced with a woven square stitched in place.

Two long narrow sashes (part a-b). Each sash has woven stripes of coarse material in many different colours, including mauve, white, brown, gray, black, dark and light blue.
