A printed inscription on the cover page reads: “ KUWANA At this spot the Tokaido Line does not follow the old Tokaido road. Travellers [sic] went by boat to Kumana in Iseji and then to Yokkaichi." There are Japanese characters at the top, bottom, and side of the printed message.
