Rectangular, 3 characters on obverse, reverse has 4 characters raised, 1 incuse, border of raised lines enclosing flowers, vertical lined. Obverse has ichi bu gin top to bottom (1 bu silver). Reverse has tei top (incuse), joutei Ginza in 2 columns bottom (Made in Ginza). Location of flower which has 2 petals above instead of 1 determines the variety.
