Female doll elegantly and elaborately dressed in traditional costume. Gold headdress decorated with two silver metal flower bunches at each side of head and tied on with orange cord. Red bow and red and gold with white blossoms in hair. Kimono lined with red then pink cloth has long train trailing onto base and is tied at waist with red sash. Her right foot shows from under the long, tight red skirt. black and gold with multi-coloured circular motifs decorate kimono. Gold and red drum with orange cord and motif of 'tomoe' on each side in green, orange, and dark purple, is tied below waist. Figure stands on wood base and is turned sideways. Her left hand is in the air about to strike the drum with a black, gold-tipped drumstick while her right hand is bent at side and is also about to strike the drum.

Centre of flowers are darker circles, or green on yellow with white centre and white lines out to petals. Sample at bottom right is a red/orange on white checkerboard pattern. Every other horizontal row has 2 different alternating designs on the red/orange. These are 6 white dots around a centre dot with yellow circle over part; black cross in a white circle with a white dot at centre; red triangles with dot top and bottom and white triangles left and right; white 'x' with 4 white dots between lines.

Each point is white and centres alternate between an orange or black diffuse circle with a white centre. Sample at lower right has vertical off-set rows of near circles in alternating colours with four pointed oval centres in ground colour of light white/brown. Yellow lines run horizontally between circles and curve vertically around circles connecting above and below each. Centres of some circles are more intensely coloured.

The colours are in discontinuous wash lines of yellow, orange/brown, orange, green and green/brown.

Second and fourth bands are 3 vertical rows of alternating purple and white rectangles pointed top and bottom with alternate coloured line at centre. Wide white border on top and left.
