Human figure of bronze ? with dark brown and red/brown finish; with turban, belt, and eyes of inlaid brass. Over-robe has design of flowers and cranes, raised in fine detail. Figure seated on ground with right leg under him, left leg bent with toes turned up. Right arm at his side; left arm raised. Eyes are round and bulging; mouth turned down at corners; face deeply lined. White lozenge design on base, finish gone from base. Base is blistered; thin sheet of metal over solid core.

White bodied porcelain bowl on single ring foot, 2.2 cm high with inscription of two-character ring mark (O Getsu) on underside of base. Sides expand slightly to rim. On outer surface is a design of blue parallel lines ending in a scroll-like pattern, radiating out from foot. On sides is a series of simple coils in blue and gold interspersed between three red circles with white flowers. Inside design is very complex, including central floral design surrounded by ring of brocade with three bat figures ? and around inner surface of sides are geometric shapes filled with brocade and three U shapes with floral design, all multi-coloured.

Round shallow bowl of white bodied porcelain on single ring foot; red 4 character mark under base 'Kutani Taniguchi'. Sides somewhat rounded, expanding to rim, which is outturned, pinched upward in 4 places. Bowl is white, with blue and black rings around foot and leaf design in grey and black on underside. Upper surface has 2 overlapping rectangular panels painted over-glaze in brocade designs, one red and gold, the other light blue with white. Clustered at one side of bowl and scattered to other side are blue and white flowers with yellow centres; brown leaves with gold veins. Large chip under rim.

Sake cup. Round shallow dish-like cup, on raised single ring foot, of very thin wood, lacquered red-orange. On upper surface is design of two cranes with pine shrubs, in two shades of gold, with touches of red and black. Cranes are in low relief; remainder of design is flat.

Netsuke carved of ivory, light brown, with dark brown incised areas; cylindrical shape, with vertical striations, carved to represent rope bindings in three places. At one side are two holes, through which passes a cord of green/brown braided silk 2.4cm. long (double). At one end of cylinder is carved a rat; diagonally below this near opposite end is a round hole from which can protrude the head of a snake, which moves freely in and out of the hole.

Netsuke carved of medium brown wood, roughly in the form of a cone-shaped seed pod, with 8 rounded cylindrical pieces projecting from holes in the base. Pieces can move freely in holes. Projecting from top of cone is an irregularly cylindrical piece representing a stem, bent down and attached to lower edge. Surface of cone is striated; bottom surface is stippled.

Netsuke carved of very hard lightweight dark brown wood, consisting of elliptical- shaped ring to which are attached (all carved from one piece of wood) two ellipse shaped pieces, one end of each is carved out leaving a ring which passes through the central ring. The other end of each is bulbous and hollow, with a slit around the periphery, the slit having a circular perforation at each end.

Netsuke carved of highly polished ivory shaped like a rectangular cube with rounded edges and corners; one short end having several diagonal grooves. Two holes connected transversely bored at mid-point on one side. A rectangular hole is cut through the piece 1-1.5 cm. from one end, through which is inserted, at a 45 degree angle, a rectangular piece of black wood, protruding edge is irregularly grooved. Colour varies from yellow to dark brown. Some cracking.

Collapsible fan with 18 inner ribs made of ivory and two ivory ribs on the outside. The outermost ribs are carved with a floral design. One side is covered in white silk, which has been stiffened and has a light bown paper edge. The silk is painted with a design of cranes flying over a marsh, in grey, white, red, yellow and blue/green. The ends of the ribs are fastened with a u-shaped brass loop to which is knotted a knotted grey silk cord ending in a tassel.
