String attached to back of mask through two holes on sides. Cloth base built up with lacquer, which is later carved and polished.

Folding hand fan covered in sheer white fabric; scrolling bamboo ribs. Fan is painted with blue trim and several branches with green leaves and white blossoms. a wristlet made from a thin purple cord is attached to the fan's base.
