Armour has triangular plates hung by dark blue cord onto a thin black band. Part (a) has four plates; part (b) has three plates. The plates are made of five black lacquer ware pieces strung together with green cord.

Pair of black armour (part a-b). The armour is rectangular in shape with a hook on the top edge and rounded lower corners. The front is painted with a black lacquer. There are four round rivets and a wave-like ridge across the centre. The back is covered by a black fabric with gold symbols.

Narrow, rectangular sash with design. The design has several large motifs, including leaf, mask and square, on an orange-red and gold striped ground. The back lining is pink.

Narrow, rectangular cloth with printed design. The design shows a detailed street scene in gray and black on white ground. There are four gray tabs on the top edge. There are two lower slits, dividing the cloth into three panels. There is a black symbol in the lower left corner.

Arm armour (part a-b). The armour is rectangular in shape, tapering towards the hands. There is blue fabric with a brown pattern overall. On the upper arm are four rows of narrow black metal bars overlaying the fabric. Over the elbow area is chain metal and a metal disc. On the forearm are five long black metal bars. Attached on the end are hand black guards with finger loops on the backside. The back is lined with coarse blue fabric.

Netsuke figure. Small ivory carving of three monkeys. The large monkey sits with hands over the sides of his head. Smaller monkeys crawl in his lap and on his back. Ink used to highlight the hands and feet.

Wooden double box (part b-c) and lid (part a), with black lacquer and pewter rims. The square box has two identical pieces that stack together. The lid has rounded edges and no handle. (Box goes with 2695/39-44).

Wooden bowl (part a) and lid (part b), painted with a red-black lacquer. The bowl has a tall foot supporting flared sides. The exterior bowl is reddish-black; the foot and interior are solid black. The lid is dome-shaped with a centre round handle, mimicking the bowl’s foot. The exterior lid is reddish-black; the handle and interior are solid black.
