Folding fan with thirty-three inner ribs of split bamboo and two bamboo parent ribs. Covered on both sides with white paper printed on one side with dark blue band at upper edge, painted with leaves and flowers in light and dark red, light blue, and grey. Rivet of light yellow plastic, through which is threaded a cord of white silk 14cm. long (double) on which is threaded an imitation pearl.

A printed inscription on the cover page reads: “ YOKKAICHI Travellers [sic] on the Tokaido passed the road to Ise Shrine at Yokkaishi. Kameyama is just beyond this point." There are Japanese characters at the top, bottom, and side of the printed message.

There are Japanese characters at the top, bottom, and side of the printed message.

The fan is supported by black bamboo ribs, each with a cut out triangle, and outer ivory ribs. Yelow cord with a green bead at the end is threaded through the ends of the ribs.

The ribs are joined with white plastic gromits through which is threaded a dark red cord with a green bead secured by a knot.
