Basket3116/5 a-c

Double basket with lids on both sides (parts b-c). Woven basket is made of two nearly identical round bodies on pedestals. Necks narrow toward the rim, the round flat mouths hold lids. The two halves are attached by weaving, at the bodies' widest part. Basket and lids are decorated with repeating patterns of small crosses made from alternating black and red imbricated bark with a yellow grass centre.

Oval shaped open basket with two large wrapped wood handles tied on with skin. On the outside wall, black and red cherry bark and light yellow grass have been interwoven with the basket weave to create a checkerboard design.

Large, deep rectangular basket with handles (a) and lid (b). A cross with a diamond shape at the end of each arm is woven into each of the sides in black or red cherry bark. A long foot or platform protrudes out from the edge of the base. Diamond and linear designs in red and black cherry bark on top and sides of lid.

Tall narrow coiled basket (bifurcated stitches) with attached flanged lid. Parallel splint base and lid construction. Rawhide hinges, front closure, and string handle. Fully imbricated in cat-tail grass, with same dark cherry bark geometric design front and back. At front on one corner is a vertical row of connected and alternating red and dark cherry bark triangles. On each short side is same vertical row of dark cherry bark triangles that connect at corners to form a three pattern. At front rim are tiered stitches at intervals, alternating between red and black cherry bark. at sides and back there are only two stitches. Lid has design of three dark cherry bark diamonds, with red cherry bark lines on each side. Repeated shape, alternating between red and dark cherry bark, along rim.

Pipe bowl in the shape of a human head, the other side is in the shape of a raven head. Metal stem with repeating ridges. Eyes of raven are drops of solder.
