Sheath2762/28 a-b

Beaded knife sheath (part a) with carved wooden knife inside (part b). The front sheath panel of beaded fabric with a scalloped edge (lined at the back with a burgundy fabric), decorated with yellow and blue crosses and diagonal lines, is sewn to a skin panel with fringe down one side. Coils made of strings of beads wrapped around strips of fabric are at top and bottom; the top is a handle of white and blue, the bottom a long tail in yellow and blue with a red wool fabric tassel.

Bandolier Bag2695/6

Beaded bag with a beaded strap. The wide strap has a design with floral motifs within diamond shapes on white beaded ground. At the midpoint, the strap is attached to the bag. The bag has centre floral motifs flanked by multicoloured, wavy lines. Extending downward from the bottom are beaded fringes with tassels of red and black yarn. Back is unlined.

Rectangular band of beading; multicoloured geometric patterning on white ground. Stands of wool protrude from either end; red, yellow, purple. Beads are white, red, three shades of blue, black, orange, light and dark green.

Pipe BagD2.86

Very long skin bag with quill wrapping. Plain along the top with a red border that has red raffia. Two quill designs on the bottom with long strips of hide for the fringe as well as tin cones with red raffia within along one side. One side of the upper portion has a design that consists of a purple- and yellow- outlined bow-tie shape with an hour glass shape along the middle on a red background. The other side of the upper portion has a design that consists of four quadrants of red, purple, and white squares. The lower portion has a design on both sides that consists of a pair of vertical orange and black rectangles on a dark red background.

BagD2.117

Bag of felt trimmed with red seam binding and embroidered with a large flower at the bottom with a smaller flower stemming upward at either side. The large flower has four heart-shaped petals with the top two being red at the centre and the bottom two being dark green at the centre, all of which are bordered by light green and pink. The two smaller flowers at the top have two petals in profile that are red at the centre bordered by light blue. Fringe is strips of cotton with metal cones on the ends. Strap has cotton trimming decorated with silk ribbons of red and green and a strip of blue wool.
