Carved wooden mask painted bright blue and blue-green with red and dark blue markings. Curled gold sheep(?) horns are attached to the top by nails. Mouth is open wide with long pointed teeth and an orange rolled leather tongue. The large slanted yellow with red eyes have circular holes cut through. The brow ridge is painted dark blue and red. Large pointed ears are on either side of the head, with a single hole through each ear and one more hole through the centre of the forehead. 'La Pirana' is written in black felt on the back.
Green, navy, yellow and cream plaid wool devil costume with ribbons attached. Full-body costume, with bottom section sewn into long pant legs, and an open top. Short fringe on pant cuffs and along top of garment. Five long ribbons are safety-pinned to the front - royal blue, yellow, light blue and navy, and one small ribbon, which reads 'Jesus Nazareno Abril 2006' with an image of Jesus. The back of the top portion of the garment is not sewn down the centre. The left pant cuff has a white synthetic rope drawn through the weave.
Large devil-dragon mask. Carved wooden mask painted orange-yellow and green, with horsehair attached to the chin. Large mouth with sharp teeth. The face is painted with scales. A gold with black tip pointed ridge extends down the centre of the face to the large flared green nose. Two large curled green horns extend out to the side, and a single gold horn extends straight up from the top of the ridge. The dragon has large pointed ears.
Round, deep bowl, unglazed and painted with a solid band of red, triangles inverted and natural, a scalloped band, and flower designs between the molded feet. The pot stands on three hand-molded, rounded legs.
Finely woven traditional fedora-style men’s hat, made from toquilla palm (jipi). Hat has a moderately wide brim, with a slightly upturned edge, and a low indented crown with a pinched front. A solid black ribbon wraps around the base and is tied on one side.
Two part wedding dress (terno) - dress (part a) and long underskirt (part b). The dress has a large rectangular bib of white floral embroidery and lace, which repeats on the lower portion of the dress. There is a lace fringe. The skirt has a cinched elastic waist. The bottom half is decorated with white lace and floral embroidery.
Blouse made of four panels of fabric (two eggplant purple and two red, both with strands of metallic fibre throughout), joined together with stitching, with an opening for the head. The sides are tied together by twelve large multicoloured tassels, tied near the bottom, centre, and again near the top leaving an armhole. Heavily decorated with embroidered floral designs in light pink, light purple and green. The neck is lined with a lilac purple ribbon. The bottom edge has a short fringe.
Tall bulbous decorated headdress which tapers in towards the headband. The headdress is covered with black faux fur(?). It is decorated with a large crest, coloured mirrors, strings of beads, plastic "jewels", a small owl decoration, sequins, and applique. Blue feathers extend from the top of the headdress and down one side. The opposite side has three tassels, and there is one tassel below the feathers. There is a black Velcro chin strap.
Shawl made of three rectangular panels of fabric (two deep rose pink and one beige, both with strands of metallic fibre throughout), joined together with stitching. One side is tied together with two large pastel multicoloured tassels, tied in the middle along the edge. Heavily decorated with embroidered floral designs.
Stencil set showing stock of maize. Stencils installed as a set of nine: three rectangles high, three layers deep. Each stencil layer was aerosol painted with a different colours - bright green, dark purple, and black.
