Round, handmade, brown clay pot with one flat, curved handle at shoulder. Entire body of jug (except the rim) is covered in small holes, including the base. Thin, long cracks run over the body surface; repairs to previous breaks at rim with one chip missing.

Basket3012/1 a-b

Small basket and lid with a very fine wrapped coil weave. Basket (part a) is rounded and slightly oblong, with vertically straight sides. Four crosses are woven into the pattern in dyed blue-green grass fibre. The rim is of the same colour. The lid is also rounded and oblong, with an inset lower lip that fits snuggly inside the rim of the basket. A braided grass tie attaches the round woven handle to the centre. Four green crosses are woven into the lid.

Doll2998/12

A small, stuffed cotton doll, clothed in a white, long-sleeved shirt, with attached full length skirt. The shirt has a pink and blue wool stitched design on the front, and purple cotton stitching around the sleeves. Pink cotton stitching runs up the back. The skirt features a vertical stripe design, of black, blue, purple, red, orange, yellow and green stripes, and is hemmed with white lace. The face features two dark brown circular eyes, a pale pink triangular shaped nose, and a red mouth, all of which are of another material, perhaps felt, that has been adhered to the cotton face. The doll has black wool for hair, styled in two braids, interwoven and tied off with pink and green ribbons. The doll has two buttons sewn on at either side of the hip under the skirt, a dark brown one on the proper right, and a smaller white one on the proper left.

Hat2998/10

A light brown, wide-brimmed, woven grass hat. Woven strips of grass, in a herringbone pattern, have been secured in a circular pattern with white plastic threading. The grass at the outer edge of the brim is black, and the underside of the brim features two bands of pyramid design also executed in black grass. The top of the hat features a small design with three black and three light brown sectors that form a circle, held in place with white plastic threading. The chin strap is a made from a light brown strip of leather, which is fed through the sides of the hat’s crown. 24 long coloured ribbons are tied to the leather strap on the exterior of the hat’s crown. There are 6 colours of ribbons (green, white, yellow, blue, pink and purple), and four of each colour. A green ribbon secures the ribbons to the leather strap.

Small square woven red top with fringed bottom and three tassels attached to each side (six tassels in all). Small vertical slit in top for neck opening. Opening is like with blue fabric. Blouse features four bright pink embroidered flowers with leaves on outer edges. Design is mirrored on opposite side. Bottom edge is embroidered. Tassels are attached with a long multi-coloured cord.

Shirt2998/8

Square woven top with fringed bottom edge and a vertical slit for neck opening at the top. Neck opening is lined with orange fabric. Top is one piece, folded over to create two panels. There are eight tassels, four on each side, tying the closed sides. Tassels are multi-coloured and fringe at the bottom is pink. Edges are stitched in a multi-coloured design. There are 3 lines along the bottom, 2 pink and a brown one in the middle.
