Sago Adze1485/4

Adze with a haft made from a thin branch. The thick end is flattened with the metal blade resting on it. The blade is held together by another piece of wood; all pieces are lashed together with braided twine.

Cricket Bat1485/3

Carved wooden bat, cylindrical in shape with a tapering through the shaft and a small bulbous bottom edge. The head of the bat has a slightly flatten bottom with a thin, triangular, fin like protrusion on the top. Around the fin is a striped incised design with coiled ends, in the cuts is a white pigment. The remaining head of the bat is painted with red, black and light brown diagonal stripes.

Skirt Board1485/2

Carved wooden, oval shaped board with engraved designs. Detailed are ten bands of different geometric designs consisting of horizontal lines, diagonal lines, triangles and a t-like shape pattern. Covering the top is a light brown pigment. The underside is undecorated.

Club with short handle that has a slightly rounded triangular end and a flaring blade. The blade is decorated with incised spiral, crescent and wave designs in relief on the top half of both faces. Palm leaves are threaded through holes along the end of the blade.

Distorted brown sphere (part a) open at one end with a cylindrical light wood stopper (part b). Sphere (part a) has a geometric design in horizontal bands that are incised around the upper half of the outer surface. The inside is hollowed out and filled with white powdered lime? The stopper (part b) has an incised band around the upper edge. It is 9 centimetres in diameter and 2.7 centimetres long.

Thin brown wood figure of a crouching human on a rectangular base with the elbows on the knees and the chin resting on the hands. Face has circular eyes, a large nose, and a horizontal line with upward pointing triangles for the mouth and teeth. The brow is decorated with a zig zag line and there are carved ears at each side. Traces of white clay overall.
