Mat1570/40

Beaded seal skin circular mat. Rows of concentric circles divided by pinked-cut skin edging, dyed pink. One row near centre has dark and light fur divided into triangles. Beading starts on second from outer row, with diamonds and hearts in yellow, blue, and pink. Following two rows of beading are vertical lines in yellow and green, and blue and yellow, and pink and yellow. Centre circle has beaded squares in five colours, white, green, pink, blue, yellow, and a centre star motif in red.

Rectangular felt panel with figurative felt applique in two sections. Upper portion consists of eight birds on purple ground; two birds each are blue, brown, orange and black. Lower portion has two separate scenes, both on white ground: men with dogs hunting a polar bear underneath three musk oxen and a woman giving birth near the bottom of the panel. Green and pink stitching around the border.
