Boat ? Fragment1056/3 a-d

Three flat long bone pieces with natural curve. The first piece (part a) is a long lightly coloured piece with a large curve and two holes at either ends. One piece (part b) is white and brown and has six holes with one detachable peg and another partial peg stuck in one of the holes. Another piece (part c) is of a lighter whiter colour and has six holes and two v-shapes carved out along the edge of one side. The other piece (part d) is of a darker brown colour and has three holes and one v-shape carved out along the edge of one side.

Fragment: Boat1056/1 a-b

The larger piece (part a) has a short end which extends into a larger more rounded curve with the two edges curving relatively parallel to each other. The smaller piece (part b) has a longer end with a thinner curve as the two edges curve oppositely to each other. Both pieces have a paddle-like shape to them.

A wood frame curved into a circular object and held together with metal nails. Dark brown leather skin has been stretched across and fastened to the frame with sinew. More long strips of light leather skin are attached to the frame at four sides.

Pair of skin boots with skin soles and off-white and grey fur legs. Edged with red fabric at the rim through which a drawstring is strung, with red fabric at the ends. Cord is also strung through skin loops around the top edges of the sole.

Harpoon1158/4

Bone harpoon that articulates with bone capped long wooden shaft. Skin ties lash the harpoon to the shaft. Small wooden hook on one side of wood shaft. Resin(?) spots on harpoon, near articulated joint, covers metal screws.
